Best Indian food in Co. Durham. Full of flavour. Massive portions. Friendly staff, especially Mo, who looked after us with a Highly recommended if you are in Barnard Castle.
Absolutely superb meal from start to finish. The prawn puri & chicken chat puri were so fresh with no sign of any grease & just melted in the mouth. I usually have a dansak so tried the Misti Gosht, which was spicy & sweet & absolutely delicious. The Chicken Jaipuri was very good & we had mushroom rice & garlic naan, which we could probably have done with a little more of. Mo was fun, although he has issues with the football team he supports! Sadly, we aren't local. But when we are passing again, we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
Wonderful food and service. Mo looked after us tonight and made us feel very welcome. He explained everything that we asked for on the menu!. We often try new foods and his knowledge was top notch. Highly recommend this restaurant
What a great curry house this is , not pretentious or poncey like some places but if you want great tasty food this is the place to be. The staff are fun and friendly and if you like football you can have great banter with Mo. Always visit here when we come to Barny.
We were so impressed with the food, service and welcoming atmosphere at Bengal. We were part of a large group celebrating an 18th birthday, and each person commented on how delicious the food was and how attentive the staff were. Each course arrived in good time, was tasty and hot and really enjoyable. The staff members were particularly impressive in dealing with such a large group, ensuring that the evening ran smoothly. We felt that it was really good value for money and we're already planning our next visit.
It's not often I make a review but certainly felt the need here. We ordered takeaway, and although only in the resteraunt for a short period, we were met with friendly smiles. The food was made super quick, but that said, the food was without doubt the best Indian food I have had in a long time. I love variety so tend to opt for a tali of side dishes instead of a main. I am vegetarian, and the selection of vege options was great, offering a variety of tastes and textures making this to be a wonderful meal. The onion baji and garlic nan were very light and tasty. A resteraunt well worth a visit.
We’ve eaten here many times. Last year I found out I was intolerant to dairy and eggs. Last night the waitress came over to take our order I told have about my intolerances. She got the manager who said everything had ghee in it, I was shocked with his statement most places just fob you off to make money and take a chance on contamination. I really appreciated his honesty, obviously values customer more than money. We left and had the normal steak and chips from a pub. Before I knew about my intolerances I would have the Naga Len…. It’s dynamite!
Really nice place to eat, the staff (mo) was great service and a very homely restaurant. Would definitely recommend
